Veilspan is a fantasy adventure in the ruins of Aethermoor. You play it in the browser — no telnet client. Explore, talk, fight, and follow quests in a persistent multiplayer world.
It is also the official live world for TalesMUD, an open-source framework for browser MUDs (Go backend, Svelte client, Lua scripting). The engine is public under the TalesMUD org. The Veilspan client that ships on veilspan.com is separate from that public engine.
The lineage is older than the current world: earlier experiments include dungeonsrv and a 2020 MUD called Tales of a Pirate. Veilspan is the game you can play today.
